Neither side come into the game with new injury worries and both managers are likely to stick with similar XI's that were knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend. We're think that Torquay's good home form this season (just two defeats coming against top 6 sides Crawley and Gillingham) and Barnet's modest away record consisting of two victories, two draws and fives defeats suggests that the home side should have more than enough to claim the three points. Torquay can be backed at 4/6 to beat the Bees.
(Martin Ling will be hoping his side continue their good form this Friday)
History between the sides doesn't point towards a 'goal-fest', last time they played Torquay triumphed 3-0 however prior to that in the past 7 encounters never did the match produce over 2.5 goals. Having said that this season the sides are free scoring (and conceding!) Torquay's ten home league games and Barnet's nine away matches have produced a total of 69 goals when added together, an average of 3.63 goals a game. Barnet's Izale Mcleod has found the back of the net on 12 occassions already this term he is clearly the visitors main threat and we think that although history suggests otherwise this one will produce goals. Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 8/11. We're also tempted by over 1.5 goals in the second half available at 10/11.
Torquay to beat Barnet at 4/6 (William Hill)
Torquay vs Barnet over 2.5 goals at 8/11 (various)
Torquay vs Barnet over 1.5 goals in the second half at 10/11 (William Hill)
