Monday Night Football - Eagle's Dreams to come True?

It's an internationals week in the regular football meaning that the only game on is in the Scottish Premier League but we're ignoring that & concentrating instead on the NFL game with the Chicago Bears facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Bears are coming off a bye week after playing in London & will be fresh & the Eagles are starting to get their game together after a very disappointing start so this could be a good one.

(Marion Barber has 3 touchdowns in 4 games this season - he can get another on Monday night)

The Philadelphia Eagles were given the tag of 'Dream team' after some big name acquisitions to add to their alrteady talented roster in the off season but they haven't lived up to that so far winning just 3 of their 7 games but they've looked improved in their last two starts winning away at the Redskins & giving the Cowboys a beating here in Philadelphia. The Bears have lost 3 of their games but against some very good sides in the Saints, Packers & Lions & have looked pretty good at times especially their star running back Matt Forte. Forte is the ultimate back, being able to pound it up the middle, break big plays to the outside, block & catch well out of the backfield - he's accounted for nearly half of the Bears' offensive yards & leads in rushing & receiving, he could help keep it close for the Bears here. As good as Forte is, he has only taken into into the end zone 3 times (one receiving & two rushing TDs) & when they get down to the goal line the Bears often look to big Marion Barber to pound it in, he's only played in their last 4 games yet has a touchdown in 3 of those & looks hugely overpriced at 3/1 to score anytime & 16/1 to score the first touchdown.

(The Eagles will look to dominate this one from start to finish)

Although the Bears are dangerous & Jay Cutler is underrated they will do well to keep up with the Eagles here at Lincoln Financial Field & they have so many weapons on offense & defense that it's scary. Quarterback Michael Vick was incredible last year once gaining his starting place back & he's been great this year throwing for 1,852 yards, completing 63% of his passes & has rushed for 422 yards, he's such a threat in both aspects of the game & keeps an defense on the back foot. Vick is ranked 23rd (of all players) in rushing yards per game this year but they also have the number one ranked player in that category in LeSean McCoy who's been averaging nearly 108 yards per game & has 8 rushing TDs plus another two through the air, odds of 8/13 for him to score anytime may look short but he's scored in all 7 games so far & those are great odds. Backing up McCoy & Vick are receivers Jeremy Maclin, DeSean Jackson & Jason Avant who is having a career year with 412 receiving yards so far, Maclin's looked particularly strong so far & is often looked to in the end zone with 4 touchdowns till now. On defense the Eagles started out dreadfully against the run which is a worry when facing the Bears but they seem more solid & stable now that the season has got going & were outstanding against the Cowboys, although they do have a weak rushing game. Defensive end Trent Cole is back & fit again & he's managed 4 sacks for the season plus at the other side of the line Jason Babin has 9 already & they are supported by some excellent players in the secondary. At cornerback the Eagles have some of the best players with the best depth too with Asante Samuel, Nnamdi Asomugha & Antonio Rodgers-Cromartie all being able to shut down a wide receiver's game & make interceptions too. It's going to be tough for the Eagles to make the playoffs with their 3 & 4 start but if they can get rolling they'll be tough to stop & will have been prepared well against the Bears game, we can't be confident they'll cover a -7.5 point start but they are strong & if they have the lead they should keep it & we think some value can be found in them winning at half time & full time at odds of 4/6 with Boylesports.

Selections:
Philadelphia Eagles to be winning at half time & full time v Chicago Bears at 4/6 with Boylesports
LeSean McCoy to score a touschdown at anytime at 8/13 with Bet365
Marion Barber to score 1st touchdown at 16/1 (Stan James & Coral) & to score at anytime at 3/1 with Bet365
