Carroll set to clip Swans wings

Last weekend was profitable for us in football betting at likebuyingmoney, mainly down to the 11/1 gamble on Tottenham to beat Queens Park Rangers by 3 goals to 1, however our midweek selections left a lot to be desired with just one winning selection from three. But as the old saying goes form is temporary and class is permanent so we're hoping to get back to winning ways. We've once again had a look at the weekend's fixtures to try and pick some winners with value.

Liverpool entertain Premier League newcomers Swansea at Anfield, The Merseyside club are on a decent run however have suffered a setback of late with confirmation this week that captain Steven Gerrard will be out of action against the Swans, bad news for England too as its been announced that Gerrard will also be missing for the friendlies against Spain and Sweden. The basic stats for this are that Liverpool are undefeated at home and haven't been beaten in the last seven in all competitions,  Swansea are winless on the road, the South Wales based club have the worst away record in the league. When playing away from the Liberty Stadium they have a habit of conceding in the first half, we think that Liverpool will have too much for Swansea and lead by half time and then go on to win the game. Liverpool HT/FT with Paddy Power is 10/11 (as little as 4/7 with other bookmakers). We also think that Andy Carroll will find the net again the £35 million Gateshead born striker is available at 11/10 with various bookies to score at any time.
(Carroll - will give Williams and co a tough afternoon)

Down in League Two, Gillingham entertain Northampton at the Priestfield Stadium. The fixture sees two sides that are short of form & points of late. The Gills have two wins, a draw & three defeats in their last six games and come into the game on the back of two defeats to Morecambe & Swindon. Their form has coincided with captain Andy Frampton & leading goalscorer Danny Kedwell being injured & only being available from the bench in recent weeks but both look likely to be in Gillingham's starting line-up come 3 o'clock. Gary Johnston's Northampton sit in 18th place & have one win, one draw & four defeats in their last six games; with defeats against lowly Hereford (20th) & Bradford (21st). The side that drew with Rotherham last weekend seems likely to be lining up again so that means four goal midfielder Arron Davies missing out with back & hamstring injuries. Gillingham are only two points off the playoff places despite their recent form and have two key players returning, they can prove too strong for Northampton & can return to winning ways at the best price of 10/11.

Selections:
Liverpool to being winning at HT/FT vs Swansea at 10/11 (Paddy Power)
Andy Carroll to score at any time at 11/10 (Bet365)
Gillingham to beat Northampton at 10/11 (Betfred & William Hill)

  1. Agree with you about Liverpool, I think they are due to give someone a good hiding very soon and it could be the Swan's tomorrow given their away record.

Don't like doing 1/3 shots, but this looks a cert, the HT/FT you mentioned is tempting also.

Might have a go at dutching some Correct Scores, fancy 3-0, 3-1, AUQ.

Like the blog, I found you through Twitter.
