This weekend's league action looks to be tense with plenty of games between teams vying for similar prizes at the end of the season, either glory or avoiding relegation. Swansea did the business for us in midweek with our +1 goal selection against Chelsea & we've scoured the leagues to find some great bets this weekend plus our strong relegation fancy for the Premier League. In the Championship, Burnley entertain Peterborough United at Turf Moor. Burnley are in mid table but only five points off the play-off places after a good run of form & Peterborough are in 17th place. Burnley have picked up five victories in their last eight league games with the latest coming away at Nottingham Forest in midweek. At home they haven't conceded a goal or suffered a defeat in their last three & striker Jay Rodriguez has scored three in his last four matches. Peterborough are inconsistent at best this season & are on a terrible run of form currently having lose three in a row & no victory in their last five league matches. They have conceded at least one goal in 93% of their away matches. We believe that Burnley will be too strong for an average Peterborough side at a best price of 5/6 with Bet365 & Boylesports.

Down in League Two, Shrewsbury Town host Port Vale at the Greenhous Meadow. Shrewsbury are 4th in the table one point off the final automatic place & three points off the top whilst Port Vale are in mid table. The Shrews have a formidable home record with 33 points out of a possible 39 with ten victories & three draws. At home they are extremely solid defensively and have only conceded seven goals in these matches & kept a clean sheet in over half of these. They have won three on the spin beating Gillingham, Southend & Hereford. Visitors Port Vale have won their last two matches against Rotherham & Plymouth but had lost four in a row before that. They away form is decent with six wins, three draws & five defeats but their record against sides in the top half of the table reads: played 12 with seven defeats, four draws & only one victory. We expect Shrewsbury to keep up their impressive home form at the expense of Port Vale at 5/6 with most firms. Game abandoned due to the inclement weather :(

For our final pick we're going to the bottom of the top with the relegation '6 pointer' between Queens Park Rangers & Wolverhampton Wanderers at Loftus Road. The game is interesting from a management perspective as QPR have just bought in the ambitious Mark Hughes & instantly backed him with the signings of Cisse & Zamora to give them the cutting edge they've lacked up front whereas Wolves have Mick McCarthy who is coming under increasing pressure from his own club's fans & seemingly even the owner who has backed him staunchly is coming to the end of his tether. Owner Steve Morgan apparently entered the home dressing room to admonish his players after yet another awful display on Tuesday night, the final straw appeared to be when they allowed £35m superstar Andy Carroll get his 3rd league goal of the season, that dressing down by Morgan happened in front of McCarthy & it remains to be seen whether that will affect how the players see the manager. All of that aside Wolves bigger problem is that they aren't very good & after starting out with 7 points from their first 3 games have since gained just 11 from 20 & along with Wigan look increasingly helpless. Apart from Steven Fletcher (9 goals) no other player has more than 3 league goals & their captain & supposed star summer signing Roger Johnson has been worse than useless at times this season & now faces the ignominy of Sebastien Bassong being brought in as competition. QPR have hardly been great but after a woeful run from the end of November up until they beat Wigan two weeks back they look to have a little momentum now & were unlucky to be pegged back by Villa on Wednesday after leading 2-0. Five goals in those two games will have them feeling positive & Hughes will be keen to impress upon them the importance of winning at home, the general 10/11 on offer about QPR should be snapped up as they are a side with a few quality players & a bit of momentum thanks to the signings & new manager.

We aren't the biggest fans of Mick McCarthy & his negative tendencies here at Like Buying Money but even without considering that his side look in deep trouble & will surely be unable to escape relegation if they can't get a result here, they have too many players of limited ability or performing way below their capabilities & 4/6 for them to be relegated looks too good to be true. Blackburn see to have a bit of fight about them & Bolton are slowly improving with key players to come back from injury whilst Wigan may even make their way past them & 5/1 for Wolves to finish bottom is another tempter.
